What information does voterspledge.org collect from website visitors, and how is this information used?
Our Voters Pledge and Voters Challenge programs allow visitors to learn about and interact with Voters Pledge. Users can interact anonymously, through a donation, or as a logged-in user.
Voters Pledge gets "automatically collected information" when you visit our website, such as your IP address, the server connecting your computer, your browser type, operating system, browser language, and service provider. Automatically collected information helps us analyze usage of the website and to improve our content, layout, and services.
Voters Challenge uses H5P libraries that send usage statistics to h5p.org to help developers improve the product type. These anonymous usage statistics contain none of your personal information.
Donating to Voters Pledge
If you donate through voterspledge.org, we collect your contact information, which may include your name, address, email, phone, and billing information.
Logged In Users
We collect "personal information" about you (such as your name and email address) only if you volunteer it by creating an account. We may store and use information that you provide to contact you about other events and activities of Voters Pledge that we believe may interest you. If you prefer not to receive promotional e-mail messages or other communications from us, please reply to the e-mail message with "remove" in the subject line or write to us asking to have your email removed from our mailing list.
Using Voters Challenge from a Personal Account
When you log in to participate in a personalized event or to track your educational progress, we may invite you to provide optional information about your voter registration, group affiliation, and voting behavior.
Voters Challenge uses H5P interactive content that keeps a record of your "content state" so that you can interrupt your activities and return to the same place at a later time.
For each interaction that you complete, your account identifier will be stored with the start time, the finish time, the score that was achieved and the maximum score possible. These results will be summarized and stripped of your personally identifying information before it is used in any way by Voters Pledge.
Some pages include embedded videos from YouTube. YouTube sets cookies that can be used to identify and track your usage.
Voters Pledge will never share your personal information with any third party without your direct permission.
Like many websites, voterspledge.org may use "cookies" to store on the user's machine to enable the browser to store and recall information. These cookies are useless to anyone else but the user returning to voterspledge.org to resume learning activities.
Your personal information will never be shared with any third parties unless you specifically request it.
How do we protect your information?
Voters Pledge works hard to protect users’ information by relying on secure servers, data encryption, user authentication and access control. Monetary transactions (i.e., to donate) use a separate web service with its own secure server and encryption to protect your personal information during processing.
How can you contact Voters Pledge about your information?
You may log in to your account to review your personal information and make any corrections. You may also contact Voters Pledge by using the Contact form at the website to request a review of your personal information and to request corrections.
How can you remove your personal information from Voters Pledge?
You may log in to your account and choose to cancel it, deleting any content linked to the account in the process.
